Nick Tosches (David Rasche) is a successful American man in the prime of his 60’s. In his time in Rio de Janeiro, he is staying for a few days in a five-star hotel in Copacabana. Nick is tired of experiencing life’s multiple aspects in this wearied, all-consuming world, and finds himself engaged in a personal quest for one last romantic adventure. His goal: to follow the spiritual track once taken by some of his life’s heroes. His tool: the opium.
