Casula Powerhouse
The Festival's first fundraiser event leading up to the Festival in September has been a huge success.
The spectacular venue, Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, added to the experience of many visitors.
We kicked off with the gifted Argentinean born musician Victor Monasterio, the audience listened breathless to his beautiful poetic and engaging songs whilst taken on a musical journey.
After this musical treat, we showed 3 short films selected by the Sydney Latin American Festival revealing a little 'preview' of what is going to arrive on the big screen soon during the Festival in September!
Some very good dance moves were demonstrated by the audience during the turbulent and dynamic show of Bravo Lingüista & DJ DreadJuan, forming an excellent team together to get the party started!
Fernando Andres & Friends made sure the night ended as it should, on the dancefloor! Playing a fusion of Afro Urugyan Condombe Jazz, they were irresistible and they seemed to only get better and better as the night unfolded after having started off just brilliant. They played till deep in the night as the audience kept on calling them back...'otra, otra'!!
The Festival would like to thank all volunteers and musicians who have generously donated their time to turn this event into such a successful and fun night.
