Castilla is an old-fashioned office worker with seemingly unwavering ethics who comes up
against his new boss, Silva - a yuppie who believes everything has a price and will stop at
nothing to prove it. Castilla is forced to confront his values, his family and himself, after refusing
to sell his boss the last magazine he needs to complete his collection. Director Rodrigo Grande
crafts a beautifully acted and heart-warmingly funny drama in which the spectator is compelled
to attach to a vulnerable group of characters who endure the pressures of everyday life
with a remarkable dose of grandeur. Based on a short story by famed Argentine humorist
Roberto Fontarrosa, this crowd-pleasing comedy combines universal themes with a wry glimpse
into the Argentine soul.
