A black comedy about white lies.
Diego Sabanés, 2008, Feature, Argentina, Spain, 100min, Spanish with English subtitles
Based on a short story by well-known Argentine writer Julio Cortázar, this is a story about a web of white lies spun by two siblings to avoid telling their ailing mother that her favourite son has vanished after a trip to Paris. This evocative film set in 1950’s Argentina, keeps the audience wondering about Pablo’s disappearance, while the family tries to preserve the past at the expense of their personal desires.
