Eclipse Parcial (Partial Eclipse) is a non-profit, cultural
organization whose objective is to introduce art as a tool for social
expression. The organization works with children from the disadvantaged
community Raúl Rivas Vásquez, located in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Raul Rivas Vásquez is situated in an area of high social risk and is
home to some 300 families with limited or no resources, as well as a
severely under-employed adult population. The Eclipse Parcial
organisation conducts artistic workshops such as theatre, dance and art
programs with a special focus on urban indigenous communities. The
teachers are all volunteers and work with the local community to
develop appropriate programs for the local children.
Currently workshops are held on the school’s floors and corridors, and
lack essential materials such as blackboard, tables, chairs, school
desks, exercises mats and other basic provisions. SLAFF’s donation will
support the purchase of necessary educational materials so that the
Eclipse Parcial workshops can be held successfully and reach their full
potential.
