BEYOND MY GRANDFATHER ALLENDE / ALLENDE, MI ABUELO ALLENDE
DIR. Marcia Tambutti Allende
Over 40 years since the military coup that deposed Chilean President Salvador Allende, a prolonged and agonising silence continues to mark the family’s remembrance of Salvador “Chicho” Allende. Granddaughter Marcia Tambutti Allende draws an intriguing portrait that addresses the complexities of irreparable loss and the role of memory. Through this intimate lens, we all become grandchildren of Allende.
