Kings Theatre MarrickvilleCinematic History of Marrickville
In the 40’s & 50’s, Marrickville had three Art Deco cinemas seating a total of 6,200 people, all since demolished. Kings Cinema was at the bottom of Marrickville Rd near the corner of Victoria Rd, Hoyts Deluxe Cinema was up on Illawarra Rd next to the Lazy Bones Night spot and the Addison Theatre was on Addison Rd on the site where the service station now stands.

The Addison was a typical suburban independent, running double bills every week. Read more about Marrickville’s Cinematic History.
